PHOTOGRAPHY

In my space time, I like to take photos to satisfy myself.

Though I think the skill is not the first consideration, but I expect the well techniques of photography can help me to capture what I need easier. So, I keep improving my skills of controlling the camera.

For the concepts of my pictures, I tend to capture the moment with emotions.

I attempt to explain some abstract meaning and show on the canvas.

And I would consider the depth more than the technique even the prospective.

And I thought there are no rules and absolute solutions on photography.

There's why I try to capture the moments with a natural and emotional ways.

OUROBOROS

I have many many ideas about the ouroboros project,

however, I tend to create the slides with a depth meaning.

Now, the work I have done is about the routine of life.

I would think everybody would have a dream at the beginning.

But the dreams will fade out when you keep distracting by the temptations.

For instance, the food, tobacco, alcohol, wealth, exterior, sex....

but the time goes by, you will discover the fact is, everything does not belong to self and only go ahead for dream will be the reality of human being.

And I tried to insert a track with heartbeat which signifies the ambition of chasing the enticements.

In the design, I attempt to present some abstract but meaningful logic.

I tend to be the model of my works, as I can fling myself into each project.

CONSUME PECKHAM

This is the "Consume Peckham" which I need to work with Dave and Samantha.

I believe we have a good time on doing the project.

At the first, we felt quite confused that what shop and where should we focus on.

As it was different to the other designed project, we have to base on a business to develop.

We found "THE BUN HOUSE" eventually. After We talked to the owner generally, we knew we have found a right one because the pub does have many histories and even storied behind. When we kept looking at this, I felt I learnt many logic and principle on him.

It is quite impressive that he said "they(customers) feel happy and I feel happy".

what i thought is, how many people feel happy depends on other's happiness?

So, I admire it is not a typical pub but it contains a lot of knowledge and wisdom.

SOUND'S PROJECT (Group with Craig & Vanessa)

This is the "Sound Project" of the first version.

It's a group work and we are happy to work on this idea.

It brings us a lot of fun and it seems the feedback is quite good.

Craig Sharp tried to teach me the british accent and the cockney's speaking style.

And I added the expression as well, so the final piece is quite funny with some strange voice.

Anyway, I like it.

RE-ENACTMENT

Since we had got the brief and my group started to think about the theme of the re-enactment project. Fortunately, my group doesn't have too much conflict on the different topics. And we choose the stunt man show as our theme very fast. For the process, my group start to plan the development based on 2 main parts,

1)take the photograph with the image for the poster or other promoted items.

2)video shooting and planning the promotion or advertising solutions.

And my responsibility is to design the postcard and the advertising.

However, I design 2 postcards. Because the show is about the mini bike which is crossing several toy buses. So, in the postcard I have designed two graphic path to signify the ramp.

To be the image designer of this event, I designed his character in a promiscuous and loose way on the canvas.

Together with these two posters, I have considered about advertising solution.

I will use the guerilla advertisement to promote the ridiculous stunt show.

Related to the theme, I designed to put a mini bike upon the bus stop and pretend to cross the bus. I believe it can drop the attention of strangers and passengers.

SOUND IDENTITY

For the sound's identity, I choose the USB format to stock the songs.

The package is made of paper cover and wire as the main materials.

The USB is hidden into the pieces of paper cover.

I use one wire to penetrate the whole package.

the beginning is a "treble clef" and the end of the wire is the rest note.

It uses for lock and unlock the USB package.

I had ever felt lost before I do this final piece.

I did it very very complicated and over-designed.

But I thought about one sentence what my previous tutor said before,

"the over-design will only happen on someone who doesn't feel confident to their works".

The other tutor in my previous course also said that,

"if something can be deleted out of the design, that means it is useless."

Therefore, I try to keep it simple and friendly for using.

BELONGING & BELONGINGS

We are involved by a team to produce a magazine with the title "belonging and belongings".

Fortunately, I meet a good mates for the project and we have some interesting ideas for it.

We decide to create a magazine with some interactive elements.

The main idea of our concept is trying to put more individual elements for every interviewer. We do not expect or fix what they draw or what style they use to be. We need to reflect the genuine identity into the magazine.

Therefore, firstly, we collect and select some potential garments we have. And then we provide to audience for choosing the style they like, at the end, we invite them to dress up their actual style in front of the backdrop which they draw in advance.

The whole process last around 1 month

Eventually, we win and take the chance to work the magazine.

But I can totally experience a very good moment with my group.

We put a lot of effort into the magazine, everybody try to input their strong point and contribute for the project.

It is a very good reaction and circumstance in the process.

MAPPING THE TERRITORIES

What I have found about the map related to human being is on the palmistry.

After I research about this specific subject in Asia, I believe that the palm can reflect the human's destiny or some talent since they born.

For the project, I have interviewed a man. After the conversation, I know more about his story including his religion, his strength and his background. I try to design a poster about his palm, which is reflected his previous of life. I divided his conversation into several parts along the palmistry theory. So, the audience can read different parts from him on the poster.

After this project, I really discover that, as a oriental student is very hard to find someone who are willing to be interviewed. Especially it isn't a questionnaire but a serious conversation of their life. It is not the food or tea or candy can attract to do. -_-

So, the only way is.........to be as hard-working as I can.....
